The death certificate certifies the decease of a person and reports some primary data such as name, surname, place and date of death.
Note that it is possible to get a more comprehensive certificate which is the extract of death act (“estratto di morte”) reporting personal data (name, surname, gender), birth details (place, date and time of birth), place, date and time of the decease and some additional information like civil status, last residence, potential name of wife/husband of the deceased (in some cases some of these are not always specified).
