{"id":7711,"date":"2021-06-15T19:57:50","date_gmt":"2021-06-15T17:57:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.italiancertificates.com\/v2\/uncategorized\/certified-translators-in-italy\/"},"modified":"2021-06-15T19:57:50","modified_gmt":"2021-06-15T17:57:50","slug":"certified-translators-in-italy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.italiancertificates.com\/en\/blog\/certified-translators-in-italy\/","title":{"rendered":"Certified Translators in Italy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">As we have already explained in our previous post \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.italiancertificates.com\/en\/blog\/certified-translations-and-legalization\/\">Certified Translations and legalization<\/a>\u201c translations must be certified, i.e. subject to an oath sworn by the translator responsible for them, in order to have legal value and\/or to be officially used.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In cases in which official documents need to be translated, it is important to\u00a0<strong>rely<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>on<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>qualified<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>professionals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In Italy, however, unlike in other countries,\u00a0<strong>there is no professional register of translators<\/strong>\u00a0and over the years a certain confusion has spread regarding the figure of the so-called \u201c<em><strong>sworn translator<\/strong><\/em>\u201c, i.e. the translator listed in the Register of Technical Experts (CTU) appointed by the Court.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">People often think that only translators listed in the court register are authorized to<strong>\u00a0perform certified or sworn translations<\/strong>. It worth clarifying, however, that\u00a0<strong>certification of a translation<\/strong>\u00a0can be performed in court by\u00a0<strong>anyone with sufficient knowledge<\/strong>\u00a0of the required language for the translation and, therefore, capable of producing the translation for which the certification is required.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It is therefore important to emphasize that the\u00a0<strong>legal value of sworn and certified translations<\/strong>\u00a0does not depend on the register of technical experts of the various courts.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, we note that in certain cases,<strong>\u00a0foreign diplomatic missions<\/strong>\u00a0in Italy require translations to be\u00a0<strong>certified by a translator listed in the court\u2019s register<\/strong>\u00a0of technical experts, for the purpose of consular legalization<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we have already explained in our previous post \u201cCertified Translations and legalization\u201c translations must be certified, i.e. subject to an oath sworn by the translator responsible for them, in order to have legal value and\/or to be officially used.
