Through this attestation a public document is<strong>\u00a0authenticated and certified to be legally valid in the other Countries<\/strong>\u00a0of the\u00a0<a title=\"Apostille Section of the Hague Convention of 5th October 1961\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hcch.net\/index_en.php?act=conventions.text&amp;cid=41\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Hague Conference on Private International Law on October 5, 1961<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Apostilles may only be issued and affixed by a<strong>\u00a0Competent Authority<\/strong>\u00a0designated by the State where the target document has been issued \/ executed.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In\u00a0<strong>Italy<\/strong>\u00a0there are two designated\u00a0<strong>competent Authorities<\/strong> which act on the type of document to be apostilled:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">1)\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>Public Prosecutor\u2019s Office<\/strong>\u00a0at the courts in the jurisdiction in which the documents were issued in the case of judicial documents, court documents and notarial acts;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">2) \u00a0the\u00a0<strong>Prefecture Office<\/strong>\u00a0with territorial competence in the case of all other eligible administrative documents provided for in the Convention.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apostille\u00a0is the\u00a0attestation of the authenticity and legitimacy\u00a0of the signature of a Public Officer or Official who has signed and released a certain document.
